Licence Validation
When your server starts, ProtonAuctions confirms your licence with our licence server, then gets out of the way.
How the check works
At startup the plugin sends your licence key and a fingerprint of the machine to the licence server, which replies with a signed ticket. That ticket is verified inside the native core, not in the open, so a forged reply gets nowhere. Once verified, the result is cached (see Offline Grace) and the plugin runs.
A declared, ordinary dependency
The licence server is a normal, disclosed part of the product, the same way many paid plugins work. It is contacted at startup and refreshed occasionally in the background, never on every trade, so it does not gate your day-to-day play. Thanks to offline grace, a brief outage never reaches your players. The one exception is the first start of a new version, when trading waits for that first check. See Offline Grace.
Tied to the machine, not guessable
Each ticket is bound to the specific server that asked for it, so it cannot be lifted and reused elsewhere. This is what lets one licence be honest about where it runs without punishing you for a restart or a normal server move.
