What It Does
The engine turns the trades on your server into a handful of things that genuinely help you and your players. It only speaks up when it has enough real data to be useful, so it never makes something up.
It suggests fair prices
A player holding an item can run /ah suggest and get a price based on what that item actually sells for on your server. Even for something rare that has barely been traded, it makes a sensible estimate by comparing it to similar items. When it is not sure, it stays quiet instead of guessing. See Price Suggestions.
It shows buyers a fair deal
While browsing the auction house, players can see whether a listing sits around what it is worth, with a tag for a great deal or an overpriced one. A seller about to price something far too high gets a heads-up before they list it. See Market Warnings.
It reads the market
It can tell whether an item is becoming more or less valuable over time, so players can pick their moment to sell.
It is hard to fool
Cheaters try to teach the engine fake prices by trading with themselves or their friends. The engine weighs how much it trusts each trader, so a pile of fake trades between brand-new accounts barely counts. See Trust Scoring.
It watches for cheating
It looks for the classic tricks: players selling to themselves, groups passing items round in circles, sudden coordinated bursts, and dumps of huge quantities. When it spots something, it flags it for your staff, writes it to the log, and can post it to a staff Discord channel. It points, it does not punish, so you stay in control. See Trust & Fraud.
It understands custom items
Items from Nexo, Oraxen, ItemsAdder, MMOItems and MythicMobs are treated as their own thing, not lumped in with plain gear, and their rarity is taken into account. Spawners from SilkSpawners and SpawnerMeta are told apart by the mob they spawn. See Custom-Item Pricing.
It can learn from your shops too
Out of the box it learns from auction house sales. If you run shop, trade or payment plugins, it can use those as well: real prices from player shops and trades, price floors and ceilings from server shops and sell plugins, and payments between players for its alt-ring check. See Data Hooks.
