Overview
ProtonAuctions is in public beta. See Beta Phase for what is stable and what is still maturing.
Every server has an economy, but no owner has the time to watch every trade and work out what everything is really worth. ProtonAuctions does that watching for you.
The economy engine follows the sales that happen on your server and learns your market: what items really sell for, which prices are fair, and which trades look like someone gaming the system. Then it puts that knowledge to work, helping your players price things sensibly and tipping you off when something looks wrong.
Everything it knows, it learned from your server alone. Nothing is pre-loaded and nothing is shared with other servers, and the model it builds stays on your machine. A brand-new server starts out knowing nothing and grows its own feel for prices as people trade, the way a new shopkeeper learns what things go for. The one part that can send anything outward is the optional beta telemetry, and Data & Privacy sets out exactly what it covers and how to switch it off.
It is on by default and stays out of the way. If you ever want it off, one line in config.yml does it.
The engine advises, it does not take over. It suggests prices but never forces one, and it flags suspicious trades for you to look at rather than punishing anyone on its own. You stay in charge of your economy.
