SQLite is the default, and for a single server it is all you need. It stores everything in one file, with nothing to install or configure.

Nothing to set up

Out of the box, ProtonAuctions uses SQLite and writes its data to a file inside the plugin folder. If you run one server, you can ignore the database settings entirely and it just works.

The default settings

database: type: sqlite database: plugins/ProtonAuctions/data/protonauctions.db

The database value is the path to the file. The other database fields, address, port, username and password, are ignored for SQLite.

When not to use it

SQLite is a single file on one machine, so it cannot be shared between servers. The moment you want more than one server to share an auction house, you need MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL instead. See How To Setup.
