MySQL is the usual choice for sharing an auction house across several servers. It is a full database server that all your servers connect to.

Create the database

On your MySQL server, make an empty database and a user that can reach it:

CREATE DATABASE protonauctions;CREATE USER 'protonuser'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'a-strong-password';GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON protonauctions.* TO 'protonuser'@'%';FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

Point ProtonAuctions at it

In config.yml, set the database block:

database: type: mysql address: your-database-host port: 3306 database: protonauctions username: protonuser password: a-strong-password

The default port is 3306. Make sure the database accepts connections from each Minecraft server, which may mean opening the port in a firewall.

For a network

If you are pointing several servers at this database to share one auction house, there is one more step: they must share the same proton.lock. The full walkthrough is in How To Setup.
