ProtonAuctions is in public beta. See Beta Phase for what is stable and what is still maturing.

Our Philosophy

We will NEVER put a paywall between our product's features and our clients.

This is an unfortunately common practice in the Minecraft plugin community, locking core functionality behind higher tiers and forcing server owners to pay more just to access what should be standard. We are firmly against this.

Instead, we have adopted the JetBrains licensing model: you pay for updates and support, not for features.

Every tier, Standard and Enterprise, receives access to every single feature in ProtonAuctions. The difference is how many servers you can run and the level of support you receive.

Current: Beta Phase

Since ProtonAuctions is currently in BETA, the plugin is not yet production-stable. Systems such as the Economy Analytics Engine, AI price suggestions, the Barter System and market trend analysis are under active development and validation. We are in beta specifically to find and fix issues under real-world use before a stable release.

During the beta there is a single free license:

Beta License
PriceFree
FeaturesAll features included
ServersOne

The beta is free because it is genuinely a beta, and being free is what lets us wind it down cleanly at stable. When the stable release arrives, beta keys are retired rather than kept forever, on a gradual and well-signposted timeline. The full detail is on Beta Pricing.

Post-Beta: Standard License

Once ProtonAuctions exits beta and reaches v1.0.0.0, the following takes effect.

There are no feature gates. Every tier gets every feature, and every future feature too, for as long as your update window runs. The badges show how mature each part is today, tracked in full on Beta Phase.

Updates & Support

Your licence includes 1 year of:

  1. Software updates. Every new version, feature, bug fix and security patch released within your update period.
  2. Standard support. Our Discord support server, with standard ticket priority.

After Your Update Period Expires

When your one-year update period ends, you have two options.

Option A: Renew

Pay $15 to extend your updates and support for another year. This is optional. We will never force you to renew.

Option B: Do not renew

Keep the last version you downloaded. It is yours. You simply will not be able to download versions released after your update period ended. See Renewals.

Server Binding

Your Standard licence covers one server.

The one-server limit is enforced by a hardware id. On first activation the licence binds to the hardware id of the server it runs on, and a Standard key is allowed only one, checked by the licence server. Running it on a second machine reports a different hardware id and is refused. This is covered in Integrity & Licensing.

It is easy to confuse this with proton.lock, but they are separate. proton.lock is a per-install key that encrypts your auction data locally. It is not your licence and it never locks or removes anything, so an expired or cancelled licence never touches your data. See The Installation Key.

Changing servers? If you migrate to a new machine, contact support to reset the binding to the new server. We do not charge for a genuine server migration. See Renewals.

Running more than one server? You need one licence per server, or Enterprise for unlimited servers. For how a network shares one auction house across servers, see Cross-Server Sync.

Who Is Standard For?

  • Single-server operators running one Minecraft server.
  • Small communities with straightforward auction house needs.
  • Developers evaluating the plugin for a larger deployment.
  • Budget-conscious admins who want the full plugin at an accessible price.

If you run a network with more than one server, see Enterprise.
