When your server uses more than one currency, the economy engine needs to know what each is worth, so a price learned in one currency is not confused with the same number in another. It values every trade against your default currency, the canonical one and usually vault, then works back into whichever currency a listing uses.

Exchange rates

  • The default currency is the baseline, worth 1.0.
  • Set rates yourself in currencies.yml under exchangeRates.
  • Or leave them empty and the engine learns rates from items that trade in more than one currency.
  • A rate you set in the config always wins over a learned one.

Currencies without a rate

A currency with no rate set and none learned yet is left out of prices, so 100 gems are never read as 100 of your default currency. Its sales stay out of prices, anomaly checks and fraud detection until it has a rate, though the engine still uses them to learn one. A listing in such a currency shows no market hint.

Run /ahadmin currencies in game to see every live currency, its effective rate, and whether that rate is from your config, learned, or the default. A currency that has sales but no rate is listed in red, with how many of its sales are being left out.

Currency ids

Exchange rates and aliases use these ids:

CurrencyId
Vaultvault
PlayerPointsplayerpoints
TokenManagertokenmanager
Ecoeco
CoinsEnginecoinsengine:<currency>
ExcellentEconomyexcellenteconomy:<currency>
GemsEconomygemseconomy:<currency>
EcoBitsecobits:<currency>
X-Prisonxprison:<currency>
zEssentialszessentials:<economy>
A custom currencyThe name you gave it in currencies.yml
Found by autopilotautopilot:<plugin>

<currency> is the currency's own name in that plugin, in lower case. /ahadmin currencies shows the exact ids on your server.

TokenManager's latest release, 3.2.8 from April 2023, did not start on Paper 1.21.4 or 1.21.8 in our tests, and a currency only shows up once its plugin is running.

What players see

The market-value hint on a listing, and the overpriced or great-deal badge, are shown in that listing's own currency, converted from the engine's estimate. The sell-time warning compares your price to the market value in the currency you are listing in. See Price Suggestions.
