Usage
/ah suggest (alias /ah price) is an optional command a player runs while holding an item to check its suggested price on demand. It is on by default. The main way players see the engine's pricing is on the listings and at sell time, covered in Market Warnings. This command is the extra for players who want a number directly.
What it shows
When the engine has a suggestion, the player sees:
| Line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Suggested Price | The engine's best price for what you are holding. For a stack, the price and the range cover the whole stack. |
| Price Range | A low-to-high band around the suggestion. Hidden when showPriceRange is off. |
| Per item | The price of one item, shown when you hold more than one. |
| Confidence | A one-to-five star rating, with the number of recent sales it rests on. See Confidence. |
| Shop prices | A note that the price was taken from your server shop's prices, when player sales do not show a clear price yet. |
| Market Trend | Whether the price is rising fast, rising, stable, falling, or falling fast. |
| Competition | How many listings of the same item are live right now, shown only when there are some. |
When a hook reads what your server shop pays for an item and what it charges, suggestions and their range stay between the two. See How Hooks Work.
When it stays quiet
The command tells the player the engine's real state instead of inventing a number:
| Situation | Response |
|---|---|
| Engine disabled | Price suggestions are disabled. |
| Still in warmup | Learning, with the hours left in the grace period. |
| Collecting, first training not done | Collecting market data, not yet available. |
| No history for this item | Not enough market data for this item yet. |
| Some history, confidence too low | Not enough recent sales to suggest a price. |
When the engine cannot price an item but your server shop both buys and sells it, /ah suggest answers with the middle of the two shop prices instead of staying quiet, at a low confidence, and says the price comes from the shop.
The engine starts answering once the warmup is over and the first training run has finished.
The command needs the protonauctions.suggest permission, granted by default. To steer players toward the listing hints instead, remove that permission. The suggestion and the range are tuned under economyEngine.suggestions in config.yml. Brand-new and rarely-traded items can still get a low-confidence estimate from the family they belong to when priceNewItems is on.
