Server Transfers
A Standard licence covers one server, tied to that machine. If you move to a new server, you can carry your licence with you.
Moving to a new machine
Your licence is tied to one server by a hardware id, the fingerprint the plugin reports for the machine it runs on. A fresh machine has a different hardware id, so it will not accept your existing licence on its own. To move, contact support and we reset the binding to your new server. We do not charge for a genuine migration, whether you are switching hosts, rebuilding a machine, or moving to new hardware.
Running more than one server at once
A transfer moves your one licence from one server to another. It does not let a single Standard licence cover two servers running at the same time. If you need ProtonAuctions on more than one server together, that is what Enterprise is for, with unlimited servers under a single licence.
How the licence binds to a machine is covered in Integrity & Licensing. The separate proton.lock file, which encrypts your data and is not your licence, is explained in The Installation Key.
